Riads in Marrakech
A riad is the soul of a Marrakech stay — a courtyard house turned inward, away from the noise of the souks, around a fountain and a slice of sky. These are our favourite riads inside the medina walls, from intimate dars to garden retreats with plunge pools.
Most riads sit deep in the car-free lanes of the medina, a short walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa; the owner usually sends a porter to meet you at the nearest taxi point.
Look for a rooftop terrace for breakfast and sunset, and a plunge pool if you are travelling in the hot summer months.
